Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was to keep.

A list of movies, with entries in Wikipedia. Apart from being self-referential in nature, this article is also doing the categories' job and can now be safely deleted. Don't get me wrong, I don't want all lists to be deleted, just the ones that are lists of articles which is exactly what a category should be doing. Wyllium 08:31, 2004 Nov 16 (UTC)

EDIT: I nominated this article solely because it by its own admission it is simply a list of already existing articles. If it isn't, if it also includes items that don't have their own article (yet), it should be kept, because then it acts like a "to-do-list" for future articles. Wyllium 07:19, 2004 Nov 17 (UTC)

  • Keep. As general and generic as I think this list is, I think it's still necessary to have starting points for browsing in general categories. --Idont Havaname 22:54, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Strong keep First off, the sublists of this list do contain red-link. Second off, the category system for movies is not this comprehensive yet. This is a good central list for all the "movies set in..." lists and such. Until the category tree for all the movies in this list is updated it should be kept for sure. Deleting the list at this time would make it harder to browse wikipedia and to keep track of needed articles. siroχo 00:15, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep if only to help whoever is going to put the movies in cats. Kappa 00:34, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Strong keep as well. [[User:Radman1|RaD Man (talk)]] 00:44, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. This is what categories are for. This is not what gigantic difficult-to-maintain Wikipedia lists are for. Lord Bob 01:34, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Has been rendered unnecessary. [[User:Livajo|力伟|]] 01:36, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep but Delete as soon as the category has the same information in it. Badly formed information should be fixed or moved not deleted. Perhaps some kind of a tag for "Lists that should be categorized" ? —Florescentbulb 01:58, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)

    • Keep-until, also agreeing with Flourescentbulb. Samaritan 03:04, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Wikipedia is not IMDB. --Improv 05:37, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep - for now at least. zoney talk 18:08, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep for the time being. GRider 23:08, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep at least for now. I think Categories still have a lot of kinks to be worked out. Robert Happelberg 19:31, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. That's what categories are for, and lists like this are impossible to maintain. Jayjg 17:49, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
